Finn Watches originated from a love of watches and horology and a passion for Northern Ireland. The idea started when Richard, wanted to create a new watch brand but didn’t want to recreate something that had been done before – a minimalist watch or homage to a luxury brand which already saturate the market. The watch market is very crowded and the aim was to produce something that was stylish, reliable and affordable while being completely different to anything a watch enthusiast may already have in their collection.
The watch is heavily influenced by the founder’s local surroundings – Northern Ireland. A country that built the Titanic, raised George Best and now provides the amazing scenery for Game of Thrones. It is also home to the Giant’s Causeway, which is ranked alongside Mount Everest on UNESCO’s World Heritage Site list. Its unique, hexagonal rocks were the inspiration behind the watch concept.
Our aim was to create a watch that was:
- Unique – We wanted to create something different, something with character. We didn’t want to use catalogue parts or build a homage to a luxury brand (nothing against either type but we feel they have saturated the market especially on Kickstarter). The hexagonal case will stand out, even in the most enthusiastic watch addict’s collection.
- High quality – We didn’t cut any corners. We worked with the best partners to ensure that we produced a beautiful watch. Our watches are being manufactured in the same factory as many leading brands and we have had access to suppliers that many new watch startups don’t have.
- Affordable – Selling direct to the customer online cuts out the middle man and keeps costs down. We have been able to create this high quality watch with Swiss movement at an incredible, attractive price – many fashion watches with similar specs sell for much more.
- Accurate – High quality and affordable meant that Swiss Quartz was the ideal option. Not only do the Swiss have the best reputation in watch making, but the quartz movement provides an incredibly accurate timepiece with extremely little maintenance. The battery life should last 4 years and no winding everday means it is the perfect grab-and-go timepiece.
The company has launched with two models – The Causeway and Fingal’s Cave. The brand has big visions and plans to add a range of watches to the collection. Be sure to sign up for our newsletter to be notified of any promotions or new launches.
